I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a specialization in History from McMurry University (Abilene, Texas). In 2007, I earned my Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. I have been in the field of education for a total of 22 years. I was a substitute teacher for 4 years, taught at The Knox Learning Center (formerly The Knox County Alternative Center) for 9 years and have been teaching at Mount Vernon High School for 11 years.
I am a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and have lived in Knox County my entire life (minus the 4 years in Texas). I have been married to my husband, Kevin, for 31 years. We have 2 sons that are living on their own/attending college and a dog that is trying to fill the void.
