I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education with a specialization in History from McMurry University (Abilene, Texas). In 2007, I earned my Master's in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. This is my 26th full-time year in the education field. I was a substitute teacher for 4 years, taught at The Knox Learning Center (formerly The Knox County Alternative Center) for 9 years and at Mount Vernon High School for 14 years.
I am a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and have lived a good portion of my life in Knox County. My husband and I have been married for 35 years. We have 2 adult sons and a dog that is filling our "empty nest".
