The Art Department is delighted to extend an invitation to our community members to join us for the Senior Art Exhibition.  The exhibition will run from May 5 through May 14 from 1 PM to 5 PM at the MVNU Schnormeier Gallery.

The Mount Vernon High School Yellow Jackets Marching Band is thrilled to announce their highly anticipated 2024 season, featuring an electrifying show with the theme "Dance Music of the 2010s." This year’s performance is set to captivate audiences with a dynamic lineup of chart-topping hits that defined a decade of dance and celebration.

Congratulations to the MVMS 8th Grade Orchestra Chorale on earning a "Superior" rating at the OMEA Middle School Large Group Event on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Big Walnut High School.

Congratulations to the MVHS Chorale on earning a "Superior" rating at the OMEA State Choir Event on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Watkins Memorial High School. The ensemble moved on after performing at the district level in March.

The Middle School Music for Life classes spent 3rd quarter using technology to create and arrange music.

Mount Vernon City Schools has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Now in its 25th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement to provide music access and education to all students.

Eight students from Mount Vernon High School submitted artwork to the Ohio Governor's Youth Exhibition this school year. The exhibition is open to all of Ohio's 1,112 high schools, both public and private, chartered by the State of Ohio Department of Education. The purpose is to provide all budding young artists of the state with opportunities to advance their talent, whether that be through scholarships or simply experiencing the process of entering their work in a competition.
