Mount Vernon Board of Education believes that district facilities should be made available for community use, and we are excited to offer our school facilities for community events! Whether you’re planning a sports game, meeting, or performance, we’ve got great spaces to fit your needs. Non-district groups and events are responsible for the costs associated with the use of facilities.
Mount Vernon City Schools uses LINQ Forms and Workflows to request the use or rental of any of our facilities.
Here’s a simple guide to help you through requesting the use of one of our facilities.
Step 1: Check Availability
Some of the spaces available for community use include:
- Gymnasiums
- Auditoriums
- Classrooms
- Cafeterias
- Athletic Fields
Each facility may have different availability depending on school activities, and all school-sponsored events take priority over external rentals.
Step 2: Know What You Need
Before you send in your request, be sure you have the following details ready:
- The type of event. (sports, meeting, etc.).
- How many people will attend.
- Desired dates and times.
- Any extra equipment (tables, chairs, sound systems, etc.).
Step 3: Submit Your Request
- What your event is about.
- The date(s) and time(s).
- Which space you’d like to use.
- The number of people attending.
Please try to send in your request at least two weeks before the event.
Step 4: Wait for Approval
Once we receive your request, our team will check availability and ensure the space fits your event. We’ll then contact you within five business days to let you know if it’s approved.
Step 5: Agreement and Rental Fees
If your request is approved, we’ll send you an agreement that includes:
- Rental fees, if applicable (based on the space, time, and any equipment you need).
- Insurance requirements (you might need to provide proof of insurance depending on your event).
- Any extra fees for cleaning or security.
You’ll need to sign the agreement and pay the fees before the event to confirm your booking.
