Becca Moss

Becca and family at Disney
Becca has served students with a variety of developmental disabilities as a special education teacher in Ohio, Arizona, and Texas. She completed her undergraduate degree early childhood education and intervention specialist at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2009. After taking a few educational leadership classes in Arizona, then moving to Texas, Becca was selected for the federally funded Project STArT grant, a highly competitive grant that aimed to increase educators' expertise in autism and evidence practices. She completed her Master's in Special Education-Autism in August 2019. The rigorous master's classes led Becca to pursue her post-master's certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis, a program predicated on using interventions strongly rooted in empirical evidence of effectiveness, social validity, and analytic principles. She completed the program in August 2020 and began her supervision hours to become eligible to take the board certification test.

Becca loved the balance of science and care of behavior analysis and recognized the use of it in public school settings. This coupled with the knowledge that public schools are underserved in the behavior analysis community lead her to pursue supervision and certification in this field, specifically to work in public education. When the opportunity came to move back home to Ohio and Mount Vernon specifically, she was eager to join MVCSD community. In December 2021, she became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, at the time the only BCBA in Knox County.

When Becca is not pursuing further trainings or working, she enjoys adventuring with her family and taking literary adventures.
