Mount Vernon Students Inducted into National Honor Society.

NHS

Mount Vernon High School inducted 38 students into the National Honor Society's Laura B. Koons Chapter.  The organization focuses on four key values: Service, Scholarship, Leadership, and Character.  National Honor Society president Sophia Percy, vice-president Megan Chamberline along with Abigail Taylor, Jess Neuerer, and Ella Ackert addressed the students and families during the Nov. 16 ceremony.

¨This year, we added a new element to the ceremony - we did candle lighting, and when the auditorium lights went down, it truly was beautiful, with all of the inductees and the current NHS officers holding their own candles. I hope that it will be something they remember for a long time,” said NHS advisor Noel McHardy-Loveland.

The following students were inducted into the Laura B. Koons Chapter: Emma Annett, Mia Armstrong, Hayden Baker, Tobias Boggs, Jada Breeding, Alexander Buerher, Trevor Buttke, Madeline Cadoret, Ella Conway, Alexandra Couch, Christian Dean, Kennedi Endsley, James Frazee, Nicholas Grega, Lily Hesler, Ivan Said Hernandez Lara, Hanna Humphrey, Emily Jones, Abigail Justice, Julieanna King, Rebekah Lebold, Lydia McKenzie, Elizabeth Miller, Ryan Morrison, Lacey Owens, Nevaeh Owens, Kylie Parsons, Emma Phillips, Averi Ruhl, Matthew Salvucci, May Smith, Emily Springer, Matthew Stevison, Brooklyn Thayer, Chelsey Wiles, Olivia Wiley, Neveah Williams, and Sophia Zoldak.
