This is my ninth year as a Gifted Intervention Specialist in the Mount Vernon City School District. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a Bachelor and Master Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In addition, I have a Gifted Endorsement from the University of Cincinnati.
My previous teaching experiences include being a substitute teacher for grades K-8 in Ohio and Michigan. During that time, I was a long-term substitute teacher for grades 2nd, 3rd. and 5th. After my subbing experiences, I taught first grade for two years at Jackman Elementary in Toledo, Ohio. I also have experience teaching preschool students for six years at the YMCA Preschool in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Lastly, I worked as a Gifted Intervention Specialist at East Knox Elementary in Howard, Ohio.
I am currently working at Wiggin Street Elementary and Dan Emmett Elementary. I have been married for twenty-three years and have three children, two sons and a daughter. My younger son is a 10th grader and older son a 12th grader at Mount Vernon High School. My daughter is a junior at Bowling Green State University.
