A new school-based health center is opening at Mount Vernon High School. In partnership with Nationwide Children's Hospital and the district, the school-based health center will provide additional access to health care. It is open to all Mount Vernon City School students and their siblings. It is not meant to replace a child's existing pediatrician but to provide help to those students who do not have a doctor
Consent from the student's parent/guardian is needed for their child to be seen at the center. Appointments will be available during school and before and after school. Walk-in appointments may be available. Parents and guardians are always welcome to be at the visit but don't need to be. Staff will follow up with the parent/guardian after the visit to explain what took place and any needed follow-up.
Join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and see this new facility located inside of Mount Vernon High School. This school-based health center is a significant step towards enhancing the well-being of our students and the broader community. It will provide a range of services to promote the health and wellness of our students. During the open house, you'll have the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the dedicated healthcare professionals who will be serving our students, and learn more about the comprehensive services offered at the center. We believe that improved communication and collaboration between the school and the community are essential to the success of this initiative, and we value your input and support.
We look forward to your presence at this important event as we continue our commitment to providing the best possible care and support for our students.
Respectfully submitted,
William Seder Jr.
Superintendent
