Mrs. Jonnah Hetzel

Jonnah Hetzel - Assistant Principal

Jonnah & Gary
This will be my 25th year working in the field of education.   I am new to the Columbus area moving here two years ago to be closer to our children and granddaughter.  I previously taught in Northeast Ohio where I was an intervention specialist and computer science teacher at Howland Local Schools.  I continued teaching computer science and was the Dean of Students here in the Columbus area.  During the past year I also helped start a program for students struggling with mental health issues working as an intervention specialist for the Central Educational Service Center.  I am starting my sixth year as an adjunct professor for Eastern Gateway Community College where I teach for the Education Department.

I have my Bachelor of Science in Education as an intervention specialist from Youngstown State University. A Master of Education in Classroom Technology and a technology endorsement from Bowling Green University. In 2019 I earned my administrator license certification from The University of Findlay.
My husband and I have been married for 37 years. We have two children, Meghan and Nicholas who are both married and we have a granddaughter Teagan. I enjoy spending time with my family, being at the beach, and playing with our new puppy Hendricks.

I am very excited about being one of the new assistant principals at the high school and am proud to be part of the Mount Vernon Jacket Family. I look forward to seeing you in the building and at school events.
