.
This is my 3rd year as assistant principal at the high school and my 28th year working in the field of education. Prior to being at Mount Vernon I taught in Northeast Ohio where I was an intervention specialist and computer science teacher at Howland Local Schools. When I moved to the Columbus area three years ago I got a position teaching computer science and as the Dean of Students at a STEM school. I also helped start a program for students struggling with mental health illness who could not attend a typical school due to their illness. I am starting my seventh year as an adjunct professor for Eastern Gateway Community College where I teach Foundations of Education and Instructional Technology for their Education Department.
I have my Bachelor of Science in Education as an intervention specialist from Youngstown State University. A Master of Education in Classroom Technology and a technology endorsement from Bowling Green University. In 2019 I earned my administrator license certification from the University of Findlay.
My husband and I have been married for 39 years. We have two children, Meghan and Nicholas who are both married and we have a granddaughter Teagan and a new grandbaby on the way. I enjoy spending time with my family, being at the beach, kayaking, and playing with our dog Hendricks.
I am very excited about starting a new school year and am very proud to be part of the Mount Vernon Jacket Family. I look forward to seeing you in the building and at school events.
