What a great honor it is to be a teacher! This is my third year as a reading specialist after eight years in fourth grade. I work with students from second to fifth grade and love helping them to become better readers and writers. I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method, which is phonics based. I have a multi-sensory approach based upon the Science of Reading. I am excited by the growth and confidence I see in my students. Reading is the doorway to possibilities, and my goal is to help students gain the confidence to follow their dreams.
When I am not a teacher, I live in Gahanna with my husband, and our dog Luna. My three children are off in the world following their dreams. My daughter Kayleigh is studying archaeology in Italy; My son Gordon is an artist and restaurant manager in Chicago; and James is working in a research laboratory at NYU. I love the adults they are becoming!
