Welcome to my classroom!

Beginning of the year 22-23
Hello. My name is Mrs. Jessica Mather. I have been teaching Special Education since January 2009, this will by my 8th year at Mount Vernon City Schools. 

I recieved my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Toledo (Go Rockets!) in December 2009. I earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University in May 2012. I have been working towards furthering my education by taking courses since 2012 in the area of Educational Administration. 

I have been married for 13 years, have two chidlren Audrey and Zachary. We have a dog, Bailey. I love reading, spending time in nature, and helping others.

English Language Arts 2023-2024 Activities:

All academic lessons are focused off of the Ohio Learning Standards-Extended

2023-2024 Supply List

All basic supplies for the classroom (pens, pencils, highlighters, glue sticks, markers, and crayons) are all provided. However donations for these basic supplies are always accepted.

Items such as tissues, cleaning wipes, sandwhich ziplock bags, and gallon sized bags are always needed. 

It is recommended that students also have an extra set of clothes available as needed in case of emergencies. Students are also able to have a waterbottle while in class, it must have a lid.
