Mount Vernon City Schools welcomed 180 senior citizens for a heartwarming afternoon of food, student performances, and community connection at the annual Senior Citizens Spring Luncheon.

The online application form for new open enrollment will be available beginning April 1, 2025.

Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year will begin March 9 for children residing in the Mount Vernon City School District.

The Board of Education will hold its April meeting on Monday, April 20, at Energy Field House. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. This meeting will be live streamed on the district website.

East Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades Present: WHAT'S NEW AT THE ZOO?
When: Tuesday, April 21at 6:30pm.
Where: Mount Vernon High School Theater 300 Yellow Jacket Drive
Student/Family Information:
Time: Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students need to arrive at Mount Vernon High School at 6:15pm. Any student who arrives early must stay with their family until 6:15pm.
What to wear: School appropriate clothing. If your student would like to, they can wear animal-themed clothing! No hats please.
Dress Rehearsal: Students will take a bus in the morning on April 21 for a dress rehearsal at the high school.
Transportation that evening will be on your own.
