MOUNT VERNON, OHIO (December 3, 2022) - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University R.R. Hodges Chapel was buzzing with musicians on Saturday, December 3rd as the Ohio Music Education Association District 10 Honor Bands rehearsed and performed a thrilling concert. Mount Vernon had ten musicians at the event, which included schools from eight different Mid-Ohio counties.

Representing Mount Vernon Middle School Savanna Suazo, Cooper Ferguson, Hailey Waibel, Matthew Teeples, and Fritz Johnson.  Representing Mount Vernon High School were Olivia Wiley, Jack Ferguson, Tyler Davidson, Jake Fanning, and Mark Fanning. Congratulations to these Band musicians for being selected!

The Mount Vernon City Schools Bands are directed by Trevor Marcho and Julia Haller. Students are introduced to instrumental music starting in middle school. The Mount Vernon City Schools was recognized by the NAMM Foundation as a Best Community for Music Education in 2016.
