Join us at Hiawatha Park Wednesday, June 14 for Kickball from 3 - 5 pm and at Energy Fieldhouse Wednesday, June 21 from 3 - 5 pm for some Dodgeball. Police and Kids United will be doing weekly events throughout the summer.

Mount Vernon City Schools Food Service FREE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM will begin June 5 - July 28 for students ages 18 months to 18 years.  Lunches are served Monday through Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Dan Emmett Elementary.

The fifth graders at Twin Oak Elementary School have spent the last few months learning how to identify challenges in their community and be part of a solution. May 19 Twin Oak hosted their first annual UNITED DAY OF SERVICE.

Please be advised that the Mount Vernon City School District's Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting on Monday May 22, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at MVCSD Central Office located at 300 Newark Road.  The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of an employee or official.
