Colored Pencils announcing back to school sales tax holiday. Sales Tax Holiday August 2-4!
Beginning in 2019 the Ohio Legislature has provided a permanent sales tax holiday.  The 2019 sales tax holiday will begin Friday, August 2nd at 12:01 a.m. and lasts until Sunday, August 4th at 11:59 p.m.  The following items are exempt from sales tax during the holiday:
  • Clothing priced at $75 per item or less;
  • School supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and
  • School instructional materials priced at $20 per item or less
School Supply Lists -  School supply lists are posted on your student’s school building website.

Ohio Department of Medicaid Logo Ohio Medicaid School Program Annual Notice
The Mt Vernon City School District has the opportunity to receive  Federal Medicaid dollars through a program called the Ohio Medicaid  School Program (MSP). Through this program, school districts can receive  Medicaid dollars for services such as Speech, Audiology, Physical  Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Psychology, Counseling, and  Social Work services.  Read More... for program details.
