Phil Chalmers speaking during training workshop at the Memorial Building. Phil Chalmers Workshop Provided By MVCSD
Mount Vernon City Schools was pleased to have Phil Chalmers conduct a training workshop for school administrators, teachers, counselors, all area law enforcement personnel, mental health agencies and other area school districts at no charge.  All of these are organizations have helped Mount Vernon City Schools provide support for the students in our district and community.  "They have all been great resources and have always answered our questions, providing whatever help needed," organizer Rick Shaffer said. “So this was kind of our way to give back to them." "This training will be beneficial in trying to comprehend why these tragic events happen and to identify the signs to look for when trying to prevent  them.  Together we are all working for one goal, a safe and healthy community."  Read full article on KnoxPages by Grant Pepper.
