I was born in Mount Vernon and attended Mount Vernon City Schools. I studied at Mount Vernon Nazarene College and graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I completed my Master's Degree in 2013 in Elementary Reading and Mathematics. My passion for teaching is in the area of reading and have continued to expand my understanding of how children learn to read through Orton-Gillingham.
I love to watch sports - GO BUCKS and CBJ!! There is nothing better than watching a live hockey game! My favorite season is spring when all of the colors return to nature and my favorite color is green. I adore coffee and my students often comment about it!
I am happy to have remained part of the Mount Vernon community and I am honored to serve the children at Dan Emmett Elementary.
