Introduction:

My name is Stacey Suarez and I am from Danville, Ohio. Currently, I live just outside of Mount Vernon with my family on a small farm. I teach first grade at Columbia Elementary. This is my 16th year teaching and I absolutely love my career! My hobbies outside of school include gardening, farming, fishing, and making crafts. I love all animals and enjoy finding time to spend with my animals as much as possible. I look forward to teaching your child and getting to know you!

Friday: Technology (every other Friday)

All specials in 1st grade are 1:40-2:25 daily. However, technology is every other Friday. Please make sure to send library books to school every Thursday and have your student wear comfortable tennis shoes on Wednesdays

for physical education class. Thanks!

Notes:

Take Home Folder- Please check your child's Take Home Folder each night. All important information will be in this folder. Also, make sure to send it back to school daily.

Homework- I don't require homework in 1st grade, but I do encourage it. I will send home a weekly reading log and math papers periodically. Students will receive a prize after completing five homework assignments. This will start after the first quarter.
Library books- Make sure to send in library books no later than Thursday morning. Students will not be permitted to check out more books until the ones they previously checked out are returned.

Transportation changes- Please make sure to write a note to inform the teacher of any transportation changes. We do not allow children to change their normal routine without a note.

Birthday treats- Birthday treats are welcome in the classroom. However, we have nut allergies for multiple people in our class this year. Check with the teacher for the number of students in the class and for any additional allergies. Treats must be pre-packaged.

Breakfast & Lunch- ALL students have access to FREE breakfast AND lunch this year!
