Welcome to Kindergarten!
Kindergarten is a year filled with fun and growth. We will spend a lot of time working on classroom routines, getting along with others and developing social skills. Kindergarteners are my favorite age group. I enjoy their excitement for learning and how much they love school. It is such an important year for setting the foundation of their school years.
I began teaching at Mount Vernon City Schools in 2007. During this time I have taught kindergarten and one year of preschool. After graduating from Danville High School, I attended The Ohio State University. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education then earned my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
My husband, Kasey and I live in Danville where we raise our three children: Hazel, Rowan and Harrison. They keep us very busy. In my spare time I enjoy reading, traveling, camping and going to my kids' activities. We have a Bernedoodle named Harley, that my students will hear about quite often. I am looking forward to the year ahead and being your child's first teacher at East Elementary!
