Mount Vernon Middle School

Excellence In Education

Erica Gray

Miss. Erica Gray

Mount Vernon Middle School has been my home since I started teaching in 2015. I currently teach 6th grade science on team Fidelis. In 6th grade science we cover topics such as Rocks, Minerals, and Soil; Matter and Motion; and Cellular to Multicellular. Our focus will be integrated with hands on learning as well as Scientific Method and Inquiry. You may have seen me coaching tennis for nine years in the community/school district and may have heard about our classroom rabbits Georgie and Hazel!

I received my bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education from Ashland University in 2015 with concentrations in Science and Social Studies. I also achieved a generalist endorsement for Mathematics and English/Language Arts for grades 4th-6th.  I received my masters degree in Integrating Technology in the Classroom K-12 from Walden University in 2020.

Other certifications/ endorsements include Google Certified Educator and 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (CYT 200) from Breathe for Change. I greatly enjoy teaching in the Mount Vernon District as a part of team Fidelis. I am incredibly excited to share this learning opportunity with both students and parents in the coming years. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
