My name is Dawn Porter.  I have been teaching 40 years, all of it in the Mt. Vernon City School system. I grew up in the Mansfield area graduating from Mansfield Senior High School.

 

I earned my B.S. in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University. I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University as well. I taught at Elmwood Elementary for the first 13 years of my career then moved to Pleasant Street Elementary.  I have taught grades 1-4 throughout my career. 

 

I have two grown sons and two grandchildren, Cameron and Rachel. Animals have always been my passion. While my children were growing up, we had many kinds of animals living on our farm. I currently still have five horses, a donkey, chickens, one goose, and many dogs.
