I am a graduate of Kent State University, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 2005. I have worked in the hospital setting for 13 years prior to starting at Mount Vernon City Schools in 2018. My work experience includes Med/Surg, ER, and Cardiology. I received my School Nurse Certification from Ashland University in 2020 and am a current Licensed School Nurse through the Ohio Department of Education. I divide my time between the eight buildings within the Mount Vernon City School District, which includes the high school, middle school, and six elementary schools. We are lucky to have a dedicated health assistant in each building to help in day-to-day clinic care and overall student health. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I am the Health/Nurse Assistant here at Pleasant Street Elementary School. This is my 10th year working within the Mount Vernon City School System. I have worked at Twin Oak Elementary for 5 years and the past 5 years here at Pleasant Street Elementary School. Before coming to MVCSD, I taught preschool at the Mount Vernon YMCA for 6 years.

 I have lived in Mount Vernon almost my entire life, growing up in the North end of town. I attended Dan Emmett Elementary School, Middle School and a 1980 graduate of the High School.

 I have been married to my husband Marty for 24 years and we have 2 children. My daughter Shelby is a Junior at Mount Vernon Nazarene University studying Spanish Education and my son Curtis is a Senior at MVHS and he plans to attend Miami University in Oxford, Ohio next fall to study History Education.  I enjoy working with the children here at Pleasant Street Elementary School.
