Mrs. Samples graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2003 earning a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education (Grades 4-9) with concentrations in Science, Math, and Reading. In 2007, she obtained her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from MVNU. Mrs. Samples earned her initial Master Teacher Designation during the 2013-2014 school year and recently renewed this in 2018 and 2023.
Mrs. Samples is currently in her 21st year of teaching. She began her teaching career at Roosevelt Middle School in Newark, Ohio where she taught 7th and 8th grade science for three years. Mrs. Samples continued her teaching career at Mount Vernon Middle School as a 7th and 8th grade reading and science teacher. She also teaches in the Education Department at MVNU as an adjunct professor. Currently, Mrs. Samples teaches 8th grade science on The Defenders Team. She is also the MVMS Science Department Chair.
Mrs. Samples resides in Mount Vernon with her husband Brandon and four sons Logan, Andrew, Bennett, and Zachary.
