My name is Mrs. Tammy Walters, and I am the Mount Vernon Middle School Social Worker for the 2023-2024 school year! Just a little about me... I also attended Mount Vernon Middle School and graduated from Mount Vernon High School! I got my undergrad degree in Social Work from Mount Vernon Nazarene University, and my master’s in social work from Capella University. I've worked in community mental health for many years, primarily doing suicide risk management and linking families with resources. I am married and have 3 kids, this year in 12th, 9th, and 5th grades! When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, attending concerts, and crafting. I also love OSU football and basketball, and watching my kids play sports!
I am really looking forward to this year to see some returning faces and meet some new students joining us! My role is to support students, and their families, with whatever is needed at that time. I can assist with helping students throughout the school day, as well as linking with community resources. Please feel free to drop in and see me, my door is always open!
