Welcome to middle school! I am Mrs. Kris Tier and I will be the guidance counselor for the class of 2028 during your time here. I am a resource for students and parents regarding academic, career and social/emotional issues and my door is open for students anytime during the school day. A little about me: I have been a School Counselor since 2012 and was the MVMS Guidance Secretary for 16 years before that. Prior to coming to MVMS, I worked in the business industry for Cheryl's Cookies and The Limited, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio. In 1985, I earned a Bachelor's degree from Miami University In Oxford, Ohio and in 2011, a Master's degree from Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. I live in Mount Vernon with my husband, Steve, who teaches reading at East elementary school in the district. We have three adult children, Amanda 25, and twins Nick and Megan 24. When not working, I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
