In an effort to foster the growth and development of young athletes in our community, Mount Vernon Athletics is thrilled to introduce the inaugural Spring Youth Flag Football League. This developmental series is designed to provide a platform for children to learn, grow, and be inspired as they embark on their football journey. Led by varsity football coaches and players, the Youth Flag Football League promises to be a positive experience for participants in grades 1 - 7.  With a focus on teaching fundamental skills and instilling a passion for the game, this league aims to nurture the next generation of athletes.

One of the unique features of this league is its emphasis on player development through active participation. Throughout the seven-week season, participants will have the opportunity to play on multiple teams, allowing them to experience different aspects of the game and form lasting bonds with their peers.

"We believe that sports should be accessible to all children, regardless of their background or experience level," said Mark Weber, Yellow Jacket Head Football Coach and organizer of the Spring Youth Flag Football League. "Our goal is to create a fun and inclusive environment where kids can develop their skills, build confidence, and most importantly, have a blast."

Open to both boys and girls, this co-ed league welcomes participants from all areas of the county, not just within the district. By opening its doors to a wider community, Mount Vernon Football aims to promote camaraderie and unity among young athletes.
