MVHS Marching Band brings dance music to life

MOUNT VERNON, OHIO (August 27, 2024) - The Mount Vernon High School Yellow Jackets Marching Band is thrilled to announce their highly anticipated 2024 season, featuring an electrifying show with the theme "Dance Music of the 2010s." This year’s performance is set to captivate audiences with a dynamic lineup of chart-topping hits that defined a decade of dance and celebration.

Under the direction of Trevor Marcho and Julia Haller, the Yellow Jackets Marching Band will bring the stadium to life with vibrant renditions of popular songs including:

- "Counting Stars" by OneRepublic
- "Timber" by Kesha and Pitbull
- "Shut Up and Dance" by Walk the Moon
- "Pompeii" by Bastille
- "Cake by the Ocean" by DNCE
- "Everybody Talks" by Neon Trees
- "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus

Each performance promises to be a high-energy celebration of the music that kept us moving throughout the 2010s. The Yellow Jackets are known for their innovative shows, and this year’s production will be no exception, combining powerful music with intricate choreography, and the unmatched spirit of the Mount Vernon High School community.

"The students have been working tirelessly to perfect this show," said Marcho. "The songs we’ve chosen are not just popular hits; they’re anthems that bring people together, and we can’t wait to share this experience with our audience."

The Mount Vernon High School Yellow Jackets Marching Band will be performing at football games, as well as various shows and events throughout the fall season, starting with The Yellow Jacket Showcase of Bands on Saturday, Sept. 14th. Fans and supporters are encouraged to attend and cheer on the band as they showcase their talent and passion for music.
