As required by Ohio Senate Bill 29 (SB29), Mount Vernon City Schools is providing its annual Student Technology Privacy Notice to families before the start of each school year.
The district uses a variety of approved educational technology tools to support instruction, curriculum, testing, and assessment. A list of these digital resources is available on the MVCSD EdTech website under Approved Digital Resources and is updated as new resources are added.
To help provide a safe online learning environment, Mount Vernon City Schools uses filtering and monitoring systems, including Lightspeed Systems and Cisco Umbrella, on school-issued devices and the district network. These tools help protect students, support instruction and technical services, and assist the district in responding to potential safety concerns. If a concern involving a student arises, district staff will contact the student's parent or guardian.
Mount Vernon City Schools remains committed to protecting student privacy and complying with all applicable state and federal laws, including the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and Ohio Senate Bill 29.
