Mount Vernon City Schools serves roughly 3600 students in grades K-12 and is the 110th largest school district among 610 public school districts in Ohio. The Mount Vernon City School District's boundary traces over 92 miles and encompasses 145 square miles in Central Knox County.

Our Board
Mount Vernon City Schools Board of Education is made up of five elected community members to serve as the governing body of our school district. Each board member is elected to serve a four-year term.

Instant Connect Communications

Mount Vernon City Schools uses Instant Connect as our comprehensive alert notification system, including attendance, district and building notifications, community information, and closings and delays. We believe the reliability, flexibility, and speed of the Instant Connect system will greatly enhance our ability to communicate school news as well as school closings and delays in a more efficient and timely manner.

IMPORTANT

Community members, parents, and students can now register for an Instant Connect Communications Portal. All MVCSD communications and alerts will come through Instant Connect.
