My name is Megan Reardon and I have been an art teacher for eight years. This is my fourth year teaching in Mount Vernon, where I teach all K-5 artists at both Columbia and Twin Oak! I graduated from Miami University in 2010 with a BS in K-12 Art Education. I have taught elementary students in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, and middle and high school students at Northwestern Local Schools in Springfield, Ohio. I am also active with Girl Scouts and spend tiime volunteering internationally for the World Associations of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Outside of the art room, I love to travel, cook, read, and explore the outdoors. I have visited 23 countries and have backpacked 600 miles (and counting) on the Appalachian Trail!

I am passionate about helping students harness their creative potential and grow in their art skills and abilities. Every student can be successful in art and will produce great things.

Please feel free to email me at any time!

If you have spare gently used art supplies or recycled materials, we would love to have them donated to the art room! Here are some ideas:
(If you have something else you think might be of use, give me a call or email -- chances are we could use it, or could find someone who could!)

  • Gently used drawing materials (markers, crayons, pencils, or colored pencils)
  • Play-dough
  • Old greeting cards
  • Recycled materials such as plastic butter or yogurt tubs (rinsed out), egg cartons, or toilet paper tubes
  • Child-friendly magazines

  • Baby wipes
  • Yarn or fabric
  • ...and more!
