Henricksen Advances to State History Day Competition
Four of Mr. Fetters' KAP (Kenyon Academic Partnership) US History students participated in the Region 6 History Day research paper contest on Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University.  Maddie Henricksen wrote "Out of the Ashes: The Tragedy and Triumph of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire" and will be advancing to the state competition next month.  Jingwei Baker's paper was about deploying the atomic bomb in World War II.  Michelle Sant participated in the History Day research paper contest last year during KAP class, and wanted to do it again this year, examining JEB Stuart's ride in Pennsylvania.  Elizabeth Clarkson researched "Kent State University, 1970: Picking Up the Unknown Pieces."  Ohio Wesleyan University will host the statewide History Day contest on April 27th in the paper, exhibit, performance, documentary, and website categories.  Maddie won Region 6, and will compete against the winners from ten regions representing the entire state.
