Mt. Vernon FFA Qualifies for State Soil Judging

Mt. Vernon FFA had two soil judging teams qualify for the state contest to be held Saturday, Oct 13th.  Teams competed in the county contest held in Howard, Ohio on September 25th.  
The Urban team evaluates the properties of the land and makes recommendations for best practices in the areas of buildings, septic systems, lawns and roadways.  At the county contest the team placed 2nd.  At the district contest on October 2nd the team also placed 2nd.

The Rural team evaluates the properties of the land and makes recommendations for best practices in the areas of soil erosion, soil compaction, water quality and overall soil health.  At the county contest the team placed 4th and at the district contest they placed 3rd.

Representing the chapter at the district level in the Urban contest was Alyse Ladig (4th place individual), Wyatt Kissell (6th place individual), Allen Jacobson and James Frazee.  The DIstrict Ag contest team members included Gavin Burke (3rd place individual), Isabelle Bobo (6th place individual), Anna Patterson and Erich Rhodeback.
