MVHS Gymnasium was filled with more than basketballs on Friday evening. New stuffed animals for Nationwide Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cancer patients were tossed to “Fill the Floor,” during half-times during all three boys games and the girls games on January 28th. The Speech and Debate Team is excited to once again represent MVHS at the Ohio High School Speech League's State Finals in Berea on March 3-4. Representing the Yellow Jackets this year are:

- Conrad Stein & Ethan Buehrer in Public Forum Debate,
- Zach Broeren & Charlie Mayville in Congressional Debate,
- Curtis Erlandson in Extemporaneous Speaking
- Makenzy Groom in Dramatic Interpretation
- Mehmet-Ali Schubel in Humorous Interpretation

At the beginning of the school year, all 6th grade English classes read the book, Cracker! Six Mount Vernon High School Seniors recently competed in the Columbus College of Art and Design Scholarship competition which is held annually for potential incoming students. Rea Bennett, Ryan Bielecki, Fredi Bockover, Mary Lowe, Paige Hashman, and Kailyn Jackson were all awarded individual scholarships ranging in value with the group total being 320 thousand dollars!  Click the Read More link for details and photograph of the students.  Read MV News Article. [...click for more]
