Excellence In Education

Señora Hooley - Spanish

Señora Hooley

I am a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, Findlay College and The Ohio State University. In High School focused on Spanish and music. I graduated from Findlay with a BA in Spanish English Bilingual Multicultural Education. I completed my MA at The Ohio State University in Peninsular Culture and Phonology & Phonetics of the Spanish Language. I traveled to the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico and Sevilla, Spain as an undergrad. I applied for and received a graduate scholarship from the Rotary International to live and study in Pamplona, Spain for a year. I enjoyed Pamplona so much that I found a job teaching English at Academia Leap the following year. While living in Spain, I traveled with many friends and also by myself to explore Europe. I have visited all parts of Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, Morocco, France, Italy, Switzerland, East & West Germany, the Netherlands, Greece & Turkey. As a teacher I have studied in Ecuador, Costa Rica and Mexico. I received several NEH grants that took me to Puebla, Mexico as well as Mexico and Guatemala.

I have worked at MVCS for 24 years now.
