Over fifty Mount Vernon High School musicians performed at the OMEA District 10 Solo & Ensemble adjudicated event held at Granville High School. Musicians performed in front of an adjudicator that evaluated their performance and assigned a rating based on several musical criteria.

Our Middle and High School Choirs participated in the Ohio Music Education Association District X Honors Choir Festival on Saturday, November 5th. Students were able to learn and perform challenging pieces of music with other students from many of the surrounding counties.

The Mount Vernon Nazarene University R.R. Hodges Chapel was buzzing with musicians on Saturday, December 3rd as the Ohio Music Education Association District 10 Honor Bands rehearsed and performed a thrilling concert. Mount Vernon had ten musicians at the event, which included schools from eight different Mid-Ohio counties.

The Mount Vernon Music Department will present its 65th annual Tops 'N' Pops Jazz Concert on Friday, April 29 at the Mount Vernon Middle School Commons. The concert will begin at 7pm and will feature the MVMS Jacket Jazz under the direction of Mrs. Julia Haller, the MVHS Mellow Jackets under the direction of Ms. Megan Aubihl, and the Knox Community Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Ted Buehrer.
