Kids Changing the World
Addison Barber decided that she wanted to make a difference. She began to research ideas on her Chromebook. After a few days, a plan was formed. She had decided that she wanted to start a club at Columbia called “Kids Changing the World”. She wrote a proposal and presented her ideas to Dr. Dill. Of course, she had his full support. The club meets during recess every Thursday. So far, the members have made Valentine's Day cards for the residents of The Living Center and they are currently in the process of making fleece blankets for Nationwide Children's Hospital. Addison's future plans for the club include writing thank you notes (with a surprise attached to the note) for our local first responders and collecting items for the dog pound. Columbia is very proud! We would like to thank Addison for making a difference in the lives of others.

Two Students with a Caring Heart

Brianna Flecknoe and Kyleigh Woods are two girls who went above and beyond to help other children. They started a fundraiser that finds ways to help kids in need. They went to their teachers and explained how much they wanted to help others. The teachers saw their passion and decided to help them make it happen. The girls were very involved in the project and worked hard to collect as many items as possible for Children's Hospital. We want to continually encourage the idea Brianna and Kyleigh came up with, kids helping kids. Columbia Elementary hopes to continue this fundraiser for years to come.
